P- It certainly feels great when you get recognition at a National level for who you are and what you are committed for.
M- What made you to participate in this contest?
P- I saw their post on Facebook, and was impressed to see their connection with Mrs. Universe Ltd. I love to challenge myself through new and richer experiences. I couldn’t resist auditioning for this pageant and was happy to be selected as a finalist.
M- What was your reaction when you were not able to make it to the Mrs. India 2017 title?
P- I felt truly happy for the winner. I could take it in the positive stride as I have complete faith in the workings of universe, whatever happens is best for me. Secondly, for me winning is not important, but playing to win is.
M- How was the behavior of co-participants to you or rather how was you to them?
P – I could intermingle well with the contestants. My room partner was very supportive and I am happy to get two friends for life in the pageant.
M- Do you think there is any kind of politics in these contests?
P- Politics is prevalent everywhere, that’s the innate nature of human beings.
M- How did you come up with the idea of writing your own books?
P- Being born in a family of authors, there has been a lot of inspiration to express myself through writing. Writing seems like a love affair for me as I feel deeply connected to my content. I could figure out the uniqueness of my books for creating value for my readers.
M- What would you have been doing if you were not a life coach and trainer.
P- I would have continued to work in IT industry. I was working as a Senior Manager at a renowned Telecom Software company before I quit my job to pursue my passion.
M- How do you manage between family and work?
P- I strive to maintain work-life balance by aiming for exceptional family life and exceptional work life. Sometimes, I do fail to balance it, but life is all about being at the cause side by doing your bit, and not on the effect side by getting bothered about what’s happening.
M- You face always glow with an ever widening smile. Is it just the beauty or there are secrets behind it which make you always glow.

M- What is your view of changing surname and name after marriage.
P- Marriage is like a rebirth for me, I was willing to recreate myself at all levels and changing my surname is a very small part of it.
M- How do you see the expenditure in weddings and indirect dowry.
P- I am not in favor of expenditure in weddings and indirect dowry. I ensured that my marriage didn’t put a hole in my parent’s pocket.
M- Did at any point of your time your husband or your in-laws or anyone demotivated you or became an obstacle in your path.
P- They never demotivated or discouraged me. On the contrary, there came a phase after my second child, when I was fine with my aspirations taking a back seat. They were the ones who encouraged me to do justice to my ambitions.
M- Was there any phase in your life when you were shattered and started all over again.
P- When I launched my venture, “Thoughtful Engagement” three years back, there was a phase when managing finance was a major issue. I was not shattered as such but did feel low at times. Somehow, I managed to respect my decision of quitting my job and never looked back.
M- Have you been through eve teasing. What message you want to give in that context.
P- There have been many instances of eve-teasing; sometimes, I ignored, sometimes, I reacted, & sometimes, I took help. The message I want to give is, it’s entirely up to us how much we allow anything to impact us and the focus should be always on taking powerful and effective actions to deal with any such unpleasant thing instead of indulging in disempowering feelings.
M- Being such a successful women, how do you handle failure.
P- I don’t see failure as a setback but as a feedback. If we want to succeed faster, we need to be willing to fail faster. I firmly believe that we never fail, our actions may fail. So I focus on taking the learning and moving forward, no matter what life throws on me!
M- What drives your life i.e. inspires and motivates you to keep going?
P- I am inspired to give my family, friends, clients and whoever becomes a part of my journey, an absolute certainty about my compassion for them. I embark on the quest to live life with boundless joy and immense fulfillment in service to humanity.
M- Do you think you inspire other people.
P- I do aspire to inspire and many people have shared that they consider me as their source of inspiration. I don’t look at my accomplishments as something big. I have taken a few steps in my journey and have a long way to go, to make a mark at the international level.

M- What learning you impart to your own children regarding life?
P- My message to my children: You are a special person with unique gifts, talents and abilities. Cherish your authentic self and don’t waste your time and energy in comparing yourself with others, rather focus on becoming your best version every single day!
M- Any message you want to share with the readers of the magazine.
P- I would like to share these lines that I wrote sometime back.
“The worst prison is the prison of our conditioning. The toughest wall to conquer is the wall of our fixed ideas. The inner demons are the most difficult to defeat!”
So, the only person who can stop you from living life powerfully is yourself. Once you conquer yourself, you can conquer the world!
